Hi
Iam unable to connect to sqlplus, while iam connecting it says "killed".Also it has thrown an core dump error in alert log,ORA-07445 IO bus error. Is the disk which has the oracle software crashed?but iam able to view the contents of the disk.
Database is in open state, will it allow the transaction to happen? We are trying to shutdown the database, but we cant do that, since we are not able to connect through sqlplus.
If we shutdown the database, due to the ORA-07445 error I don’t hope db will allow us to open.we have a very old cold backup, and the DB is on archive log mode.i know that we can recover by applying the archive log on the cold backup.
Due to this error,it terminated the Hot backup and export dump.

suggest me with your experience.
