Sorry for delay reply.
Bydefault mode is "Maximum Performance"
If you have not done anything then you probably using this mode.
For checking purpose you can issue
Select protection_mode from v$database on standby database.
It should show you to "maximum performance"
and second thing you are not using LGWR for pushing archive files
to STANDBY Server.
you can see this by log_archive_Dest_n parameter which you modified
for your standby site. If it does not contain "LGWR" word then
it is using archiver for pushing the file to standby.
and for confirmation you can check through
Select creator,name from v$archived_log on production box.
it should show you "ARCH"
and if you got any diff. result for both queries then please
post it else standby is not the resone of slow performance of production.
