Dear all,

I was attempting to restore 10.2.0.4 RAC Backup to 11.2.0.4 single instance dbhome, but rman complains no backup of datafile available.

RMAN RESTORE FAILS WITH RMAN-06023 ALTHOUGH BACKUPS ARE AVAILABLE (Doc ID 965122.1)

rman backup is available

Before restore/duplicate use "CATALOG START WITH" command to catalog the backup pieces.
If the error is still coming then you are in the case of bug 17968478 and have to manually catalog the backup using "CATALOG BACKUPPIECE" command.

Yes, Michel you are right. we need to catalog our backup if we are not using FRA or the we have change db_recovery_file_dest
